St Johns River Trophy Bass Fishing Guide

st johns river Located just North of Disney World, Universal Studios and Sea World The St Johns River is one of Florida's most famous and relatively untouched bodies of water. If you are ready to experience the thrill and excitement of Florida Big Bass Fishing, this is an amazing place to spend a day. Whether clients want to pursue trophy bass using live bait or artificial lures, the St Johns River is the ultimate destination to catch the fish of a lifetime.

The St Johns River is an amazing water way that covers 310 miles and is one of only a few rivers in the U.S. that actually flow north. In the Orlando area the St Johns river feeds into Lake Harney, touches lake Jesup before it empties into Lake Monroe. Water levels throughout the lakes and river are shallow in nature leading to most of the fishing being in less than 3 feet of water.

St Johns River GuideThroughout the year there are numerous opportunities to catch different species of fish from the St Johns River such as Trophy Bass, Hybrid Stripers and American Shad with the latter two being unique to the River. While this part of Florida is popular with tournament anglers because of the trophy bass fishing potential it doesn't get a great deal of fishing pressure. Florida Manatees call the St Johns River home throughout the year and because they are endangered much of the areas are idle only zones. While this may be a problem for tournament anglers, it isn't one for clients looking for untouched areas of Florida for a true outdoor experience.

As a Florida Native that grew up spending many weekends fishing with my family throughout the lakes in Florida, the St Johns River was one that helped form the foundation for understanding river fishing. Growing up in East Orlando when I wasn't fishing with my family I could be found walking miles of shoreline along the Econ River which gets its water from the river.

In 2003 I created Florida Bass Adventures Trophy Bass Fishing Guide Service with the goal of providing the ultimate Florida trophy bass fishing trip for my clients. Including the St Johns river as one of our primary lakes was a priority to be able to accomplish this. Along with being a full time Florida bass fishing guide I compete on the Bassmaster Southern Trail and the FLW Bass Fishing League tournaments. Proving my abilities against top competition is for my own personal gain but gives potential clients the confidence in knowing that I have the experience and knowledge to show them proven tactics and cutting edge techniques to help them achieve their goal.
